The purposes of the European Science Academy

ESA has the purpose of:

• Facilitating interdisciplinary contacts between scientists throughout the world.
• Spreading advanced foreign scientific culture.
• Cooperating within European scientific bodies.
• Participating in national and international scientific research programs.
• Stimulating technological innovation through the production of patents and other works of ingenuity.
• Involving the business world and other private parties in scientific projects.
• Helping the growth and progress of the sciences, especially in developing countries.
• Allowing the most deserving scholars long periods of research.
• Supporting, implementing and managing innovative project ideas.
• Stimulating international scientific and technological collaboration.
• Promoting technical and vocational training through the allocation of grants.
• Providing facilities to attract scholars from UN member countries.
• Supporting expenditure for the purchase of books or whatever is necessary and of scientific value and useful for research.
• Creating an international scientific community.
• Issuing certificates of merit to economic operators and to those who have honoured their life with the virtue of work.
